“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

-Carl Jung

I often find that clients experience great relief from distress by simply gaining awareness and insight into patterns of thinking, believing, and being that are no longer useful to them. Empowering people from a place of insight creates space for greater self-acceptance and change. Watching this process unfold is always an honor.

My philosophical orientation is an amalgam of client-centered, humanistic, and existential approaches. I believe that humans are essentially striving toward their best selves, in search of meaning and wholeness.  I believe in the importance of accepting life choices, the inevitability of stress and the constancy of change.  We create the meaning in our lived experiences, including our therapeutic experiences. To this end, I encourage client self-expression and self-direction in the counseling process.

My therapeutic methods are integrative, drawing from Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, Narrative and Family Systems theories. How I approach treatment planning depends on the individual and the issue or problem with which they are struggling.

My areas of focus are Adjustment, Anxiety, ADHD, Bereavement, Grief and Loss, Depression, Narcissistic Abuse, Stress Management, Relationship struggles, and Career and Workplace issues.  As a tele-health practitioner, I now do limited trauma work.

I see individuals only.  I welcome diverse populations, older adults, and especially enjoy working with people in life transition.
